1、 How to start the fire pump
The starting relationship between the fire control room and the fire hydrant action button is related to the starting form of the fire hydrant pump. The starting method of fire pumps is generally divided into two types. The first starting method is under the bus control mode. The start of the fire hydrant action button can be sent to the fire control room console through the linkage interface module set next to the fire hydrant, and then the switch contact for starting the fire hydrant can be output from there.
The second starting method is to directly output the switch value contact of the fire hydrant action button to the fire hydrant pump starting box. Both of these startup methods can be applied in practical design. The former method saves wiring, but requires address coding programming of the fire hydrant linkage module under the bus system to achieve the purpose of monitoring a large number of fire hydrants. The latter method of starting is simple and reliable, but it also requires returning the fire hydrant action signal to the fire control room. Designers can choose according to the actual scale of the project in the specific design. For large-scale projects with complex building forms, the former start-up method can be used, while for small-scale projects, the latter start-up method can be used. The self starting of the fire pump is achieved by the explosion of glass balls in the nozzles of the pipeline network in each protected area under high temperature, causing the flow of water in the pipeline network, and then linking the pressure switch of the alarm valve to achieve the purpose of self starting the sprinkler pump. By linking the water flow indicator module or alarm valve pressure switch to the control room, the fire control room can accurately reflect its action signal, and the control room should be able to directly control the start and stop of the sprinkler pump.
2、 The starting method of fire pump
1. Star Triangle Start Mode
The starting mode of Star Triangle has a simple structure, low price, and high reliability. Therefore, it is widely used to reduce the starting current of equipment by reducing power. The current characteristics are good, but the torque characteristics are poor, so it objectively exists and is only suitable for situations where there is no load or light load starting.
2. Self coupling voltage reduction start mode
The starting mode of autotransformer is to use an autotransformer to reduce the starting voltage applied to the stator winding of the motor. After the motor is started, disconnect it from the autotransformer and allow it to move normally under full voltage. This type of voltage reduction startup is divided into two types: manual control and automatic control. Different taps of the autotransformer can be selected according to the allowed starting current and required starting torque to achieve voltage reduction starting, and can be used regardless of whether the stator winding of the motor adopts Y or △ connection method.
3. Soft start mode
Soft start is a technology that uses voltage reduction, compensation, or frequency conversion to achieve smooth starting of electric motors and mechanical loads, reducing the impact of starting current on the power grid and protecting the power grid and mechanical systems. This form is costly but provides better equipment protection. The voltage gradually increases from zero to the rated voltage, so that the starting current of the motor during the starting process changes from uncontrollable overload surge current in the past to controllable. And the starting current can be adjusted as needed.
